What to include in your listing

• Photos of the actual lot: a close-up and a wider shot of the bales, bundles or stack.
• Grade and code: for example ISRI code word, alloy and temper, or trade name, plus packing.
• Monthly capacity and location: buyers plan freight and continuity around these.
• Dimensions / tolerance: Write down the size and the allowed variation, for example thickness, width, diameter or length with plus and minus limits, and agree how they will be measured.
• Homogenisation: Homogenisation is a heat treatment of cast billet that evens out the structure for better extrusion. Ask whether billets are homogenised and request confirmation on the certificate.
• Chemical composition: List the alloy standard and the limits for key elements such as Si, Cu, Fe, Mg, Zn and Mn. Ask for a composition report with every lot and keep the right to test on arrival.
• Mill test certificate: A mill test certificate records chemistry and mechanical properties for a lot, linked by heat or batch number. Ask for one with every dispatch and match the numbers to the material.
• Recycled content: If you need recycled content for customer or ESG reporting, agree how it is defined and what documentation the supplier will provide to support the claim.
